The Voices of Recovery “the website”

Home of The Voices of recovery podcast the blog all the things

Real Conversations. No Bullshit. Just Hope, wrapped in a pretty package of more hope.

Recovering the best we can . A mic in hand. This is where we tell the truth about addiction — and everything that comes after. All the pretty details.

Welcome to The Voices of Recovery. This isn’t another preachy self-help show — this is real talk from people who’ve been through it. Hosted by Chris (that’s me) and Shane, we sit down to talk about what sobriety actually feels like: the guilt, the grace, the weird joy of staying alive one more day.
If you’re just getting clean or trying to stay that way, pull up a chair.
You’re not alone — you’re in good company.

“You don’t have to be healed to speak. You just have to be honest.”

Our top 10 episodes in No Specific Order. These are the best of the best.

Chris Alder is now 10 years clean and Counting

I got clean in 2014 — and it didn’t feel like a victory. It felt like crawling out of a burning house, naked and ashamed. But I stayed. One morning at a time.

Now I’ve got ten years clean, a mic in my hand, and a mission in my heart: to help people know they’re not broken, they’re not weak, and they sure as hell aren’t alone.

I’m Chris. This podcast is how I stay sane. And if you’re early in recovery or just trying to hang on — you belong here.

Shane Bright is now 9 years clean and Counting

Shane got clean on June 25, 2016 — and like most of us, he didn’t walk in looking for a miracle. He was just done running.

These days, he’s a proud father of two, a soon-to-be grandpa, and a Harley man with a soft heart and a mind built for recovery. He relocated to build something better for himself and the people he loves — and he did.
